We have quite an evening planned involving students from the Virginia Beach Schools Culinary Arts Program serving their exquisite hors d’oeuvres and desserts, live entertainment from the musical Annie, silent and live auctions, and locally sourced adult beverages.
Proceeds from our annual fundraiser are always used to directly support student needs at Tidewater’s first and most successful public charter school. This year, the money raised will be used to pay for 220 International Baccalaureate and Career Certification Assessments which can amount to $720 per student, provide scholarships to post-secondary experiences, enhanced learning experiences, and opportunities to develop workforce readiness skills.
Funds will also be used for the 2023 Summer Bridge and Support Program for rising ninth graders entering GRC. The program, co-hosted with two leading organizations in our region, Sentara Healthcare and Centura College, is designed to:
- Introduce students new to Green Run Collegiate to the rigors of the International Baccalaureate program.
- Begin their four-year academic plan by introducing them to careers that are in high need within our community, such as alternative energy, hospitality, and medical careers.
- Support them academically and emotionally to assure their personal and academic success.
Green Run Collegiate is a school like no other!
Unlocking potential – Transforming lives
You CAN make a difference
Our goal is to raise the funds necessary to underwrite the testing fees and to expand the opportunities for students.
